Our Panto – Robin Hood’ written by Monica Mobbs – took place at East Tuddenham Village Hall on 19th January2025.

It all went very well we had over 200 people in attandance – so many that we ran out of chairs and had to sit some on tables at the back!

If you couldn’t make it or just want to temind yourself of the jollifications, check out the videos below…

Robin Hood – A Review by Matt Thornton

“Here we go again, boy!” was the jolly call as I arrived at the dressing room in East Tuddenham Village Hall. The first sight to greet me was a Blakeney Old Wild Rover squeezing his legs into a pair of green leggings… The cast of Robin Hood (Norfolk edition) were assembling.

It wasn’t long before the hall was buzzing with excitement. An expectant audience of over 200 filled the hall, our largest attendance ever. In typical FOND tradition, the Trosher competition winners were announced & their respective works read out, what a fine selection they were!

A healthy scrum soon developed as everyone was keen on grabbing some Norfolk shortcake & a cuppa before the main shenanigans were ready for lift off. The expertly called raffle was full to the brim of lovely prizes although several tickets looked the same colour but weren’t (apparently, they were produced in Suffolk!)

The gal Tina was a last-minute addition to the cast, being our fairy cladded narrator. I don’t know which part of the County she floated in from, but heck that super gal did a fine job, with the audience hanging on her every word.

Now the music this year was the same but different, provided by the wonderful Occasional Celidh Band, those fine musicians being loyalists of many a FOND dew.

After the best part of sometime the hall was rocking with laughter, song, comedy & the finest acting anywhere north of at least Wymondham! The forest scene was so accurate you could have been forgiven for thinking that you were on the outskirts of Thetford…where else would you get to see bushes held together with Sellotape, string & PVA glue, randomly falling over all the time!

Our Wild Rover friends, more used to the pounding North Sea soon became accustomed to their landlocked surroundings. As in previous Pantos they were worth their weight in gold (or Norfolk crab equivalent).

Diana & Monica once again pulled the rabbit out of the hat with a wonderfully written & entertaining script. Remarks, like ‘wonderful” “so funny” “totally unique” “can’t wait until next year” filled the air as the hall steadily emptied after the show. The whole afternoon was thoroughly enjoyable for participants & the audience alike, who after weeks of dull winter weather were in need of spirits brightening. Once again FOND delivered! No doubt many of the original stalwarts of FOND who now look down from the Norfolk heavens, did so with a smile, as we continue to keep their legacy alive. Long may it continue!

Until next year

Keep yew a Troshin’
